He only became a Democrat for this primary. He has been an Independent for almost 40 years. While still crappy the way the DNC treated him, it shouldn't have been a surprise they wouldn't back a "new" Democrat. I'm sure they missed out on a lot of fund raising money from him.

On several channels, Bernie was asked about his party affiliation. He said he was an Independent until his term ends. Then he would change to a Democrat. This discussion was the day that Bernie endorsed Hillary. Time will tell.

Political parties should not let just anyone run for office under there platform. To much of politicians switching parties to stay elected and too many people in current parties that really don't belong.

Bernie turn out to be a huge disappointment for his base. I didn't agree with him on anything but respected the fact that he was reaching people( as amazed as I was). But in the end, he got in line like a good little soldier and toed the party line. Hillary will not get 50% of his voters which is doom for her. I never thought I would see a major political party silencing its own people at their convention. I guess if you live long enough, you will live to see anything.The man started a revolution and ended up joining the establishment.
