Help Wanted - Wiring: Cable & Satellite

Need an expert to sort out the wiring coming into the house and run some wire to rooms where it currently does not run.

Recommendations?

I know several people that do this, but I don't recommend them. 😂

I just had some new TV cable run, my old 30 year old cable was creating problems. A guy named Daryl did it, good work, I think he is in Porter. Was recommended to me by an Humble company that does commercial wiring (actually, I think Daryl works for them). He does work late afternoons and on Saturday. Send me an email and I'll forward his contact info. By the way, he is almost totally deaf, so best to send text messages.

What you want, is a cable guy, on their day off. If you see a cable truck in your neighborhood, you can put your contact information on a piece of paper and talk to them about it. They are usually happy to have a little side work.

Good info and thanks. Solved my most pressing problem which was getting internet directly to the Xbox instead of using Wi-Fi. The answer was hotwire from router through the electrical outlets. Adapters from Best Buy.

@GregButtle

Hold on, because I am super interested in what you just said - I too have wifi from the modem/router combo box which is fine for Roku, xbox and general device use but not strong/steady enough to use when working from home. So our PC's are wired to the modem, which causes a mess of wires. Are you saying there's some kind of outlet adapter I can use? I literally just need to get it across the room (wirelessly) but without using the wifi. If that makes any sense????

Yes. Available at Best Buy Atascocita. One adapter plugs into outlet and wires into router. Other adapter plugs into any other outlet in the house and wires directly into PC or gaming system. Acts as if that 2nd device is wired into the router. Takes it off wi-fi.

Our electrical is, well, very special. As in not even slightly on any level up to code. But it might be OK. Worth checking it out.

That is so cool. Been trying to get my laptop hard wired into the modem for years. Connection is too slow via wifi in the evenings.
