Hazmat spill slows downtown Houston traffic

HOUSTON - Firefighters were called to a hazmat situation in downtown Houston Thursday.

According to officials, an overturned pool truck leaked chemicals along Smith Street. Officers blocked Smith and Texas Streets as they clean up the area. The spill also affected the METRO rail.

The purple line that runs west only ran service to east downtown. Metro is providing bus service to people to bring them downtown.
