Ugh, I was just thinking about the guy here at our library. I guess he's still on the loose.

I do not doubt there are pedo's and perverts at local libraries; however, this "letter" raises doubts in my mind as to authenticity and accuracy. I'll have to check snopes.com and stuff. It so doesn't sound right to me, just my opinion.

This seriously had my blood boiling reading that letter. I swear I'd eat bologna for a few nights if I caught some perv staring at me or other little girls!

@Tuckersmom : you might want a grain or two of salt before you commit to chowing down on green Bologna. Look at the source. Ask questions in your own mind.

@Sammee The behavior could be that of Aspbergers. "Stalking" has a legal definition and the first article clearly did not reach that threshold. Creepy person, possibly. Over exaggeration, possibly.

I read the letter and all the posts on KDC. My personal opinion is if ANY women at any age feels " that feeling" in the pit of her stomach where something is wrong, it usually is! we are taught to brush it off and be polite. Don't cause a scene! No. If something doesn't sit right it doesn't matter if it's this story for those library patrons or any other situation, they shouldn't be made to feel afraid to speak out and trust their gut. If this is true, the only reason that man is still there is because it's a technicality - there's no real law he's broken until he HAs done something. I would not let my DD's sit there and be intimated by some guy! I was around 14 yrs old and some man stared me down and did vulgar things to himself infront of me.. I was paralyzed in shock and fear and cause I didn't immediately do something he got away. Both my parents were no more than 5 ft away. It happens to quick and anywhere. Maybe this guy hasn't crossed the line ... Yet. But you bet I would confront him if I saw him staring!

@Tuckersmom Likewise, I get it, several years ago I was sitting in a restaurant downtown with a friend when a male approached my view from outside the window and commuted lewd sexual act. I get it. Having read the "Wordpress" it does not reach the threshold of "stalker." To be honest, after reading the title of the thread and then reading the Wordpress, I was done. I am not going to chase links in a forum. 1.) the more links you click, the more chances for Malware, but 2, I don't have time to turn threads into research projects. That is why "TL;DR" is popular.

We're all entitled to our own opinions. Being a protective mom the thought of TL;DR doesn't happen for me on any subject topic. Who knows she could blog her thoughts and warnings anyway she wants imo. However True or false this particular paper is we can all see that we do need to be vigilant about our kids safety 24/7 wherever we are.

Apparently your experience didn't affect you as it may others. The library is wrong 100 %. They can ask anyone to leave or call the police to address his "unusual " behavior. No it may not be a crime "yet" but maybe he would think twice before coming back. As Tuckersmom state's your entitled to your opinion but to defend a person who apparently makes others uncomfortable is strange also. JMO
