Korea and the Philippines are countries well known for this. Markets sell meat snacks like shish kabobs made from dog meat.

Reminds me of a story a comedian told about a trip he took to Korea with his wife.

As he told it while touring the country they saw several markets where dogs were in pens for the live table meat trade (as it was explained to him).

This really bothered her so she decided she would save one and went to the manager (who spoke no English) and after much discussion arranged on a price for the dog. She handed him the money he grabbed the dog she wanted by the neck, broke it and proceeded with skinning out the dog for her.

I guess there is a moral there but I have worked in all sorts of kill plants around the word and horse is consumed in many countries of the world as well as monkey. I even worked in a plant in South Africa capable of handling up to five elephants a day.

What is abnormal to us is common in other parts of the world. Lets just take better care of our dogs and not waste money on foolishness like this.

Wow..looks like there are some Jindos (Korean breed similar to the Shiba Inu and Akita). Too bad I'm not in the position to adopt another dog (Already have 2 that keep my hands full).

And in other parts of the world, we are looked at as evil for eating cows.

It reminds me of a story I read about a Peruvian who was here in the U.S. visiting, and was BBQ'ing guinea pigs at a public park. That's regular fare for Peruvians.

Wow, how can you eat Fido? Poor pups. And I'm not trying to be insensitive bc those dogs matter, but why aren't we focusing on our own homeless animals. We are having to put pups down because we don't have room. Exactly how much did it cost to bring them here? Who paid for it and whose paying to house and feed them? I mean if I see shelter and rescue groups begging for homes and assistance. Why not focus on what's in your backyard first?
