Goose attack on 5-year-old Houston girl goes viral

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston-area girl got quite a scare from an angry goose over the weekend. And photos her sister posted of it are going viral.

These photos are of 5-year-old Summer Gidden. According to her sister, Stevie, Summer came across an injured gosling and was tending to it. That's when the territorial mother goose went after Summer.

One neighbor snapped the photos, while another fought off the goose. Stevie posted the pics on her Twitter account, and as of Tuesday night, had more than 43,000 retweets and 57,000 likes on it.

Summer suffered a few scratches in the goose attack, but was otherwise fine.

Shame on that picture taking neighbor. Seriously. What is wrong with people these days that they would neglect a terrified child like that just to get a picture to post on social media? If that were my child, that neighbor would need a proctoligist remove my shoe.

If that were my child, I would pick them up, dust them off, and talk to them about respecting nature.

We had geese growing up. Not gonna lie, I'd hang clothes up on the line looking over my shoulder.

I once watched my mom smack one of them over the head with a frozen burrito bc it was attacking my then 2 yr old niece. Burrito broke in 2 and didn't even phase that mean sucker.
