As most of you know...
I'm a nanny.....

My job today had me needing tylenol and a nap. Lol. Baby boy was fighting his sleep for over an hour (squirming in my arms, screaming, crying) I felt so bad. His mom says he does that everyday for nap time... I feel for her :/

Any suggestions on a way to break him of this habit...???

.. I rocked him in my arms while sitting down, then I put his head on my shoulder, then I was basically doing a dance in the living room with squats while holding him till he passed out. Lol these were the methods she told me to do.

Besides that my 3 day job this week is going good. Looking for a full time job though so I can really get to know a family instead of bouncing from one family to the next. It's difficult this year compared to in the past to find a nanny job I wonder why..

Guess you have to do what the momma wants....good luck. My baby had to cry himself to sleep. No joke. I read baby wise. Maybe you should give it to her as a gift. It was a life saver. He slept through the night at 7 weeks😪. He took naps until he was 4 years old. To this day he loves to sleep.

A set routine where things become increasingly calm - make the house dark, cool and quiet with soft music

Figure out the root cause of the behavior -

if baby is cling-y it might be not that he is fighting sleep but rather fighting being put down alone - try wearing him in a sling and letting him fall asleep while wearing him. Babies need lots of skin to skin contact - if you wear him in a sling while in a tank top this is going to help a lot. Mom should do this as well once she is home each evening - babies WILL get their snuggle time one way or another - you must fill them up on skin to skin snuggle time before expecting him to sleep.

If there is a routine where you feed him and then try for a nap - be sure that what he is eating isn't upsetting his tummy - what seems like fighting sleep can actually be upset tummy (squirming, twisting, crying, twisting in your arms - all signs of upset belly) - so what will help is having a BM before the nap - tummy time, a warm bath, warm oil massage can all help with making sure he isn't trying to digest while you are wanting him to go down.

Cry it out sleep training is not reccomended by most who follow attachment parenting. If I were paying a nanny I would expect my child to not be in bed crying himself to sleep. You know?

I would never let the baby cry for more then 5 minutes without going in there and picking him up. I just can't do it.

How old is the baby? I probably held my son way too long and then took a nap with him.

Try putting him on your lap with belly on the knees while patting back and swaying your legs side to side. When mine would get really fussy at nap time a distraction helped. Sounds to me like either upset tummy or overly tired.

It could be gas. Try this massage technique. Warning! Video contains images of a totally adorable baby.

@Hippie90 Oh, what a sweet age! Seems like carrying him around face down helped the tummy problems. I'm guessing he just doesn't want to nap! LOL They do fight it because they might miss something.
