Melissa McCarthy Dropped From Mike & Molly. CBS Claims She Is "Unfit" For Role

Loading Image...

It appears the leading actress of Mike & Molly Melissa McCarthy did not see the suspension of the hit comedy show coming. What she really didn’t see coming is the blindsided suspension of herself from being cast as Molly!

Reports are flooding in from sources saying that McCarthy’s new attained slim figure is not a “qualified” look for the role of Molly.

“The show is about two overweight star-struck lovers who, together, face challenges to lose weight. Not an overweight police officer who falls in love with a slimmer funny teacher” a CBS spokesperson states

Seems a little ballsy of CBS to make such a bold statement and move. But what does Melissa have to say about this? As seen by her appearances on several red carpet showings- the Heat and Identity Thief superstar seems to not be bothered by this, rather she is embracing the change.

She took to social media to tells fans that it’s not CBS’ fault, but rather her fault for not being 100% open with her diet regime. She also makes a rather scowling statement toward the network.

I think she is still overweight enough to play the part.

Good for her for making a positive change! She is still heavy, but going in the right direction.
Good writers could make a good story out of this.

@Happyasalark Thanks I had no idea. I really have never even watch it. Makes no sense to fire her now. What she's doing is a positive step. She'll do fine she's got the movies now Emoticon

The show is funny but sort of the same thing different program deal. I don't watch much TV but would watch it. If it doesn't make me laugh, I'd rather pass on TV. She will be fine making movies but the rest of the cast might not.

Never seen the show but in the long run, she is better off for having lost the weight. Good for her.

She is a very funny actress, and should be successful no matter what size she is, however, isn't there a curse to overweight actors who became famous when they were heavy, and then after losing weight, they just seemed to not be as funny? i.e. Jonah Hill, Seth Rogan, Zach Gallafanakis, etc.

Either way, I really like her, and I applaud her for choosing to lose the weight at an acceptable pace. Doing it this way, she would be more likely to keep it off. I'm sure in the long run, she will be healthier as well.
