Super Bowl 51

I'm excited about this but already sick to death of all the construction downtown. It will only get worse for the next year. It's going to be so awesome when complete!

Any guesses on who they may choose for the halftime entertainment? I learned from my Bay Area friends that they initially wanted Metallica for SB50, as they are a Bay Area band, and it would have been freakin awesome, however, the band didn't like all of the restrictions that the NFL was going to put on them, so they ended up declining, and instead had a huge concert the night before at AT&T park in San Francisco.
The controversial Beyoncé seems to be an obvious choice, as she is from here, but I really hope that doesn't happen (wouldn't that be 3 years in a row?) and maybe because of the controversy from the other night, they will look elsewhere.

Anyone, renting out their home? Emoticon

I saw where a family was renting out their home for 10,000 a night for Super Bowl 50 and there was nothing fancy about it! Emoticon

I've got some rentals closer to town, I might put the family or families up in a nice hotel for a bit and rent them out lol. I'd probably still profit.

This is Texas ... after our 2004 failure at a halftime show...lets go with George Strait, or maybe ZZ Top.

@Fairlane67 Something HUGELY Texan would be best. Something that would have mass appeal, which is what 50 should have been like. Their selections for SB50 were head scratchers.

George Strait or ZZ Top would be great. Agree, the halftime for SB50 should have blown everything else away. It certainly did not. Whoever thought Cold Play was a good idea should be fired.

I actually like Coldplay, but thought they were an extremely weak choice, made worse by the other crap that was involved too. Bruno Mars is great, but not SB 50 material.

Now if they could have resurrected Elvis, that would have worked well I think.

@Happyasalark Too bad Stevie Ray Vaughn isn't still with us, though, I'm not sure a Super Bowl would have been his thing. SRV and ZZ would sure make the older part of the crowd happy.
