Cruz makes me laugh

The Donald would wake up one morning and Nuke Denmark the cruzer said. He 's just upset that the Donald would make the Denmark glow instead of the Theodore's desire to make the desert glow.

Glow worms, fireflies and glow sticks are about the only things, that glow or could be made to glow, that these guys should be around.

I believe his comment was in jest and was pertaining to Trump's child-like tantrum, but maybe I just came to that conclusion because I possess critical thinking skills....

I like Green Eggs and Ham I do I do like green eggs and ham, the green eggs give off a nice glow.

I wonder if Theodore analyzed the civilian body count that is an inevitable by product of carpet bombing. Military leaders think the carpet bombing suggestion shows how Cruz is not ready to be CIC.

@Posterguy So what are these military leaders' ideas and why aren't they currently being used? How does everyone else plan to deal with ISIS? All I see are other candidates badmouthing Ted or in Trump's case, blabbering on an on, using his followers' emotions to boost his popularity. There was that one time that Bernie said climate change was the cause of terrorism. I'm curious how military leaders feel about that statement.

"I'm curious how military leaders feel about that statement."

Analytically speaking and using that analytical mind, the military leaders would have to answer that question.

If you would like an answer you may want to start with a google search.

I asked more than one question. How does everyone else plan to deal with ISIS? I already know, but do you? Ted's plan isn't even the worst of them.

Yes and no. Carpet bombing civilians isn't much of a plan.
Massive ground troops bogs us down in a quagmire.

No one wants to hear it, but defeating Isis will take time. The place is a seething stew of religious and ethnic hatred.

Turkey will have to close it's border to Isis-1

Spec ops and weapons for the Sunnis tribes (watch out for blow back, see how this works.). Use withholding air power as a political lever to keep the Shiites from carrying out atrocities and exacerbating a horrible situation.

Convince Turkey that Isis is a greater danger than the Kurds and support them to drive Isis out. Maybe make Turkey question your support for them in defense from Russia-quid pro quo.

Addressing Syria would consume too many analytical resources at the current time.

Sorry for the simple response.

I think a semi- autonomous Iraq is the only solution there. 1/3 for each Sunni , Shiite and Kurd.

Sunnis have to be brought back into the power structure and military.
Maliki stomped on them.

Some revenue sharing would also be called for.

Ted never said carpet bomb civilians directly, just ISIS. Perhaps his definition of carpet bombing is incorrect. Realistically though, bombing is about all we can do. No one wants to use ground forces, and since it's so hard to tell who is the enemy, I don't either. We can arm the Kurds, but that's not going to make Turkey very happy. Their hatred of the Kurds runs deep. IMO, we should instead turn our focus to the Saudis, since they actually finance terrorism against us and are actively bankrupting our oil industry. Of course, we could just stay out of it and mind our own internal problems, but there's too much money to be made with wars and rumors of wars. Rubio wants a full blown ground invasion. That's who the establishment wants. Sorry for the rant. My coffee just kicked in.

*Edit to add: Turkey would never allow the Kurds to control northern Iraq.

Don't have time to read whole post , but preview pop up is easy.

Isis has embedded with civilians- carpet bomb Isis , carpet bomb civilians.

Facts on the ground.

Make them glow sounds nice, the reality and effectiveness of carpet bombing is not so nice.

Now you could carpet bomb and kill hundreds of thousands or perhaps millions, lay waste to everything and you win by default.
Do you think that's what Theodore is talking about?

@Posterguy Judging by his comments, I believe he mistakenly said carpet bombing ISIS, when just bombing ISIS was what he meant. If we decide to never take out terrorists because they are hiding among civilians, than how are we ever going to take them out? They are killing innocent people themselves. At some point, innocent people will have to die to prevent more innocent people from dying in the future. I know that's a cold thing to say, but it's reality.

No he said carpet bombing, he said make the desert glow, platitudes are easy- effective solutions are much harder to come by.

And yes the sad cold reality of this may be a death toll in the millions with millions more displaced and great swaths of land destroyed.

I say Use the Kurds and the Sunnis tribes to drive Isis back to Syria while simultaneously working on a diplomatic/military solution in Syria.

It will take time.

To answer your question we are talking small villagse and large cities to carpet bomb, unless Cruz wants to expend ordinance carpet bombing the desert, blowing up sand to see if we can make it glow.

@Posterguy How many people live in the middle of the desert? Looking at ISIS's territory map, it would appear the bulk of it is in the middle of the desert. Now that I've thought about it, maybe that would be a good idea to carpet bomb them in the desert. There won't be as many innocents there. I still believe he is confused as to what actual carpet bombing is.
