Just wondering

Why 2 unnamed posters were told to cut out discussing a certain HOA when they certainly never referred to a specific (controversially controversial ) HOA?

The aforementioned unmentionable HOA was brought up by another (non controversial ) poster, who completely without controversy, told us the ban on procreation was lifted.

What could be controversial about that?

I posted valuable information from HOA-USA. It was talking about all board members should have an orientation that would help them be better board members. Yet, this becomes a locked subject? Needs to go behind the Shield of Controversail where no one can read it?

A poster asked what if no one wants to do all that board stuff. Well, it use to be hard to get members to committ to a three year term. Well, untill the golf course debacle, and since then it has been no problem getting someone to run for some reason.

Before that, there was a nomination committee that actually did some work. They actually went around and talked to members about doing the job. They worked until they got the required members to put on the ballot and they always got the required number to run. Anyone can run for the board, but the nominating committee was "nominating" a member that they had talked to, knew that member had the time to do the position and would uphold our governing documents.

This poster seems to forget that most all the HOA's in this area have a professional management company handling most everything. Is it too much to ask a board to know what the governing documents say or what state law says. If they don't understand something, just ask the property manager. That is why a good property manager is needed. They can lead a board down the wrong path if they don't know the HOA's documents or state law.

Joe, Say It Ain't So

So all HOA discussion has to be put on that very first thread that was created called "HOA Controversy" or something like that? Where is that found now? Page 348? How does one find it to then put something on it? Plus, if the subject matter is not controversial why should it go there? Just delete the poster who says something that might be viewed as controversial.

As we all know our board in my opinion doesn't want anyone to know what goes on at the meetings . Very few people show up at the meetings & they blame that on 3 of us . How lame is that ? They are giving 3 people the POWER to keep a neighborhood of 2,500 people away from the meetings ??? Really ? Maybe those folks don't want to ask a question & then perhaps get removed by one of our policeman that they take off our streets to be patroled & have them in that very (((DANGEROUS ))) meeting where 3 people ask questions !!!

Now perhaps we should email out some of our recordings where some on our board are SCREAMING at us for asking questions ?? Yep people don't want to miss their TV shows to know what goes on at their HOA meeting but might like sitting in their home & listening to them . They will then see that not once have we raised our voices to scream at anyone .

This site has((( no other subject )))that has been classified as controversial that I know of . EXCEPT anything that is said by one of the 3 people about anything in ACIA be it the board ,paint on a house, construction on the water . Yet all the golf course folks spoke of that non stop on this site ! On here asking people to join , talking about fire works Kevin was on here discussing all about the whole thing of revamping & getting it up & running .

We as an HOA took a vote & the majority said nope no thank you , but that was NEVER a controversial subject now was it ???I find it very controversial when the majority SAID NO THANK YOU yet we had to listen to KK give up dates in our HOA meetings in our newsletter on our website .

@bbk @JustSayn @Posterguy

There's a a thread for HOA/ACIA stuff, keep it there, it's a simple requirement.

That rule is in place simply because those discussions have already caused me a crap-ton of moderating headaches already, and I'm tired of moderating it.

Those are the the rules, if you want to continue to be able to discuss HOA stuff on ADC, bottom line.
