How can I catch a little field mouse in our house?

We chased him into one room, shut the door and stuffed the bottom of the door with a towel...no cracks anywhere to escape. I bought those traps that spring closed and trap the mouse inside...peanut butter as a lure. No mouse in trap this AM, so I added bacon to the peanut butter. Still....nothing. What else can I lure him with? Also, we can't find any obvious point of entry. Any suggestions? There isn't any sign of other mouse activity, thank you Jesus....no nibbled pantry food, etc. I put all of my mouse-friendly food in the deep freeze, so there isn't a food source for them. What else can I do?

Just wait, It will not test the trap for a couple of days because it is in a room it isn't familiar.

mice can squeeze through amazingly small openings. If you see one, you frequently have more.

Good Luck!

Also, where is the trap? They tend to say close to the base boards or corners.

Are you wanting to catch it or kill it? Just a regular mouse trap with peanut butter is how we got rid of ours years ago.

Come take on of the stray cats that hang out in our front yard.
Hubs saw one in the garage on Saturday, went and got the traps, put cheese on them. No mouse yet, hoping it got out the way it came in. I'm terrified of mice.
