The job fair will feature representatives from school districts throughout the college system's service area who are looking to hire and to fill positions, and all positions in the field of education will be included.

The event, which is being presented by the Career Services Council and teacher certification programs at LSCS, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the M.O. Campbell Education Center, 1865 Aldine Bender Road, Houston, Texas 77032.

"We are extremely excited to be able to once again bring these hiring entities together all at one time and in one place," said Brian Dooley, LSCS senior program manager for workforce development and placement.  "This is a great opportunity for school districts to meet with a variety of prospective educators, students from teacher certification programs and community members who have an interest in education."

The goal of this event is to provide both school district employers and potential educators - especially those who are currently in teacher certification programs, those who have completed teacher certification programs, and students studying for an associate's in teaching degree - with educational employment opportunities. Dooley is co-chairing the event along with Julie Wilson, LSCS counselor and associate professor.

"This annual event is a great help to the school districts for hiring purposes and to individuals wishing to enter the field of education," said Dooley.

LSCS officials say that job applicants who plan to attend should dress professionally and bring copies of their resumes.
