What is that one thing that your family really likes to have to make it Christmas. Our's has a long-standing award winning Peanut Brittle recipe that everyone in the family expects to see some of at Christmas. (I'm not a big fan of it myself cause I don't care for peanuts much.) My personal favorite is fudge with pecans and/or walnuts.
Peanut Butter Balls I guess for sweets and shrimp dip because I only make it for Christmas or if heavily requested for any other special occasion during the year.
Sausage balls! My grandmother always used to make them for Christmas eve. Ever since she passed, we have carried on that tradition. This year Christmas Eve is at our house --- guess what I will be making?
Do you make your own or purchase ? The Bordens is the best I have found & if I can't get it then I won't drink it . I love eggnog .
@bbk: I buy Bordens as well. I wouldn't know how to make it! lol! Always store bought. But I haven't yet this year. Promised Land is also really good! Saving the calories for Christmas Eve.
Swedish coffee bread. My mom would send a care package every year with coffee bread, kringlas, and chocolate spritz. Sadly those treats will be gone now that my mom has passed away. I hate baking.
Although my mom is the one who always made them so I guess I'll have to take a stab at making them this Christmas. I'm not a baker.. I'm more than positive I could never make them as good as she did.
