That is sickening. I am wondering if he even had legal representation in the trial.
 
We all suffer the consequences of that sh!! = no doubt about it, imo.

So the defendant confessed to killing the 2 girls but that wasn't enough for today's court. 65 years later his sister said she had been with him on the day of the murders and he could not have committed them. Where was she in 1944 to testify to that?

My guess would be she was afraid to say anything back then, trying to stay alive herself.
