Why cant we get the board members and candidates for election together at the overlook and have a debate?

We are asked to vote on people to work on our behalf whom we don't know a thing about.....

Members could ask one question each....and all members could have the option of answering

I want to know

What are their priorities
Will they waste money
Why do they want the job
What will they do to improve our area
Will they be transparent

I would like to know how Patti Speer and Edwin D'Artois define "active member of our ACIA". What active thing have they done in the last 10 years for the ACIA? They just in the past couple of months were put on the ACC. However, if you go to the ACIA web site right now you will see that Edwin D'Artois does not have his name listed as an ACC member. Yet he uses that as his one credential.

It seems as with all politics you just say whatever you need to say to get elected. These two candidates didn't have time to come to board meetings until they decided to run or the golf course was the big issue. I am not sure Speer even showed up to a golf course meeting since she worked for CAM, our management company at the time.

I would love it if everyone would tell the truth about why they want the job.

I would also like to know why the Sensible Solution Committee is endorsing candidates. Is this a lobbying group? What is their goal?

At the Nov meeting you get a chance to ask questions they all line up & are introduced, then everyone has a chance to ask the 1st person questions , when people are finished asking then they move to the next person .So you are able to hold off on your vote till you ask your questions & then go turn it in . Laura & Jimmy one thing they said was they were going to be transparent . Hahahahahahahah And their was some sort of comment on Sue's about being transparent oh here it is the comment is this ------Last Yr , which would be 2012 when Jon & Anthony ran ) we were successful in electing 2new candidates to the board , canidates who represent all the residents , not just their friends , candidates who support ( TRANSPARENCY ) !!!! There is a lot more but the word TRANSPARENT is what I was looking for .

I would also like to know the goals of the Sensible Solution Committee. why is it imperative they get their candidates elected. Why do they think the community is divided? They obviously have an agenda, why not step forth and tell what they intend.

It is their buzz word. They all claim to be Transparent and then do just the opposite once elected.

There is a question and answer time before the vote at the annual meeting. I have a few questions ready to ask.

@tb505:
Why was it important for them to take on almost 2 acres of land near Rosemont at Dalebury when you can't build ANYTHING on it ??? They never got the price of cleanup like THEY PROMISED THEY WOULD OR COST OF MOVING OUR SIGN , COST TO TEAR TRHE SIGN DOWN ! They opened that meeting & completely ignored us protesting this . THEY LIED TO US the month before, they did not take the vote because we spoke up , they said Ok they would get the prices & they didn't .They said they wanted this land because we have a Pinehurst Sect 8 sign on it . Well screw that !! At 2 other entrances their are signs going into Sect 8 I really don't think we need to spend money on taxes & up keep for a 3rd sign . On top of that what I remember reading in the deed restrictions when we take on more land the(LOTS ) have to be assessed ! So when Pinehurst , The Pines , And all the other land was taken into our Association those lots were all ASSESED & BROUGHT MORE MONEY INTO OUR ASSOCIATION. So pools tennis marina & such all that cost was spread out over more people . SO WHY really did they want this land ???? Was it perhaps testing the waters for bigger things to come ???? My opinion is what they did was not legal but then I am not a lawyer read it yourself & see what you think .

Why did they hide the listing agreement to sell the wetland lots ??? They said at the last meeting they would be saving most likely another $100,000 at the end of this year . So they have a contract with a builder I think they said for $ 200,000 . We I think already have money in savings . Now I will leave this right here & let you ponder all the DIFFERENT THINGS THAT COULD BE DONE WITH THIS MONEY & remember I think it is $ 53,000 .00 they are waiting on from Water Board 132 .

This is a great idea. I know nothing about anyone running, really, other than they are already on the board or they are wanting to be on the board.

I can see this becoming a huge "holler fest", however; perhaps we can make a spreadsheet with questions, and have a moderator?

Suggestions for debate:

Please state your name and neighborhood in which you live.
How long have you lived in Atascocita?
What activities are you currently involved in within the community? Be specific.
Why do you want to serve on the Board? Be specific.
What amendments do you think our by-laws need and why?
Do you foresee any additional improvements needed to our area; what are they are what would you do to support these?
How do you feel about transparency for the use of our ACIA funds?
How would you handle, as a board member, meeting outbursts, and or passionate discussion?
Regarding community, what are your personal thoughts on what a community should be?

-SSC solution, hide everything and when residents find out and ask questions, portray this as outbursts and have the police remove them.

How do you feel about transparency for the use of our ACIA funds?

-What transparency?

-Where are the 2012 and 2013 financial audits?

Sorry for the questions, I mean outburst.
