Do you prefer a fried turkey or the traditional baked bird?

Baked here.....Although the last couple years we've ditched Turkey for something else on Thanksgiving(we did buy the Turkeys while the prices were good but cooked them in the middle of Summer....Which was, surprisingly, a really nice shuffle!)...

Tried the fried approach before, wasn't impressed at all....Loading Image...

Hmmm........Now that I'm thinking about it....Never tried one on the PIT yet....Might have to quarter it or something to speed the cooking a bit, but I bet it would be good!....Loading Image...........You've inspired me!!!...Will do it before the 1st of the year and see how it comes out...

We like fried turkey.

Prefer oven roasted for Thanksgiving. Makes the house smell like Thanksgiving.

All of above, especially if someone other than me cooked it.

Do you have turkey tails? That is all I had last year while the other family ate the traditional turkey.

I've been wanting to try a smoked turkey but my traditional husband only wants baked one.
One year we froze the leftovers and one summer evening I thowed it out, made some mashed potatoes and gravy, and it was so good! I don't think that you really appreciate the turkey because there is so much other food on Thanksgiving.

We have been doing fried turkeys for the last 12-15 years. I think this year we are going to do a smoked turkey on the pit and a roasted turkey in the oven. (Large gathering for Thanksgiving here with lots of men who want MEAT!)
I'll also have a ham and am thinking to add BBK's cajun stuffed peppers this year too!

We bought ham, bacon and sausage from them before both online and in store. They're good!

@lana7018:

I've got 17 ppl coming to my house for thanksgiving! Freaking out a little on the meal preparation and execution..

On a positive note my entire family will be together on thanksgiving for the first time in a very long time!
