>> Don't know what happened to all the other posts on this thread (they were valuable...should have been left), but good for the homeowner. How terrifying that must have been for him (really...just put yourself in that position and think about it for a minute).
Prayers to him and his family having to recover from such a traumatic event (and, I'm sure a mess after 2 shotgun blasts).
Easy to talk smack about shooting someone, but when you actually experience that and the retrospect that follows, it's a whole different ballgame recovery-wise for the victim. Thieves SUCK! The 2 female thugs got exactly what they deserved. No sympathy at all!
Be warned, would-be thieves who have the balls (or ovaries lol) to break into someone else's home and invade their private property! You're idiots if you don't believe that likely 85% or better of homeowners in this community are armed and ready to take you out if you enter our homes invited.
So glad the homeowner is safe. Don't give a rip about the 2 women in critical condition.

I wouldn't have a problem sleeping that night........
not at all
@macdaddy:
I would. Not over sympathy for the thugs, but the what-ifs would cloud my mind in terms of my and/or my family's safety for a long time. You just never know how you're going to react in these situations, despite how you think you would. Trust me on that.
@brightlights:
I agree. I hear a noise now and I'm up. The other morning at 1ish I woke dh. I said I hear a firetruck. He begrudgingly got up and then said how the hell did you hear and see a firetruck and ambulance from the living room? It was 2 blocks away lights only. I sat on the porch a bit and said a blessing. I did not fall asleep until 5ish and then got up at 7.
We all say what we think we would do. Every situation is different. When I'm home I'm not just sitting there waiting for someone. I'm sawing and hammering or scrubbing something off in another part of the house. Many times I'm outside in the garden not paying any mind to what the neighbors might be doing.
I wonder if I would hear someone sometimes when we can't hear each other from the other room.
I would hope I could react fast enough and without regret. But their would be sleepless nights.
on one of the other sites a woman's home was cleaned out. Like she was moving. They asked where. She said no way I'm saying, I do not feel safe in my home and I will have it on the market shortly. That's a f'd up feeling.
