Police request parents not come to campus as police are still clearing campus- Parents told to go to local church to reunite with students.God bless them I would be going out of my mind

CNN is reporting there are now 2 dead including the idiot that done the shooting.

That is the current speculation, reports are popular student who was recently the victim of bullying.

@macdaddy: Back in the day when one was bullied, when you got tired of it there was a meeting in the back of the school. No one pulled out knives and certainly not guns. I think with so much access to digital media a lot of these kids want to go out with their 15 minutes of fame. I know it sounds crazy but.....

There is something about just having a quick fist fight. Getting it out of your system and moving on. I know that's frowned upon these days - but after that guys usually are fine and done with it.If you just hold it in and have no cooping skills this kind of day is the option some seem to take.

I agree...the boys would go somewhere and fight it out ( even some girls who were bad ***) and it was done and over with...it was a pretty big thing to go to the "the fight" after the football game on a lonely old Cemetery road.
Maybe if we still had this old timed tradition, bullying would not even exist with such deadly consequences.

Some of you are not going to like what I say but here goes-It is now a different world- Bullying is not the same because of the internet and social media. Guns were not so prevalent and anything beyond fists was taboo,We did not have so much violence on TV and we certainly did not have shooter video games.Can I single out one of these factors no but all may contribute.

@Posterguy: I agree with most of what you're saying. However, we've had violence on TV for awhile in old Westerns, detective shows, and even some of the cartoons we watched back in the day that would be considered too upsetting now.But what I whole heartedly agree with is these violent video games. The problem in general is today's kids don't go out and play anymore. Many of them spend all night and most of the weekend playing these damn games. Additionally some kids nowadays have no coping skills whatsoever. I read in a book of an actual event where there was an Easter egg hunt. Instead of letting the kids look for eggs, parents were out there darn near knocking each other down so their little darlings would get as many eggs as possible.Then there are the stupid, stupid, stupid, dumb policies now that kids can't exchange valentines cards unless every kid in the class gets one. So little wonder when some of them are stressed they resort to violence.

They took punishment out of school. When I was young and you acted a fool, you got it at school and you got it again when you got home. We feared and respected God, our parents, and other authoritative figures. Kids today do not fear or respect anyone and there are no repercussions for any of their bad behavior. Time to stop blaming bullyng and violence on tv, etc. Parents need to step up and parent again.

Very hard to hear as Marysville is the city we moved here from in 2012. Lived there for 12 years and know many students there. My thoughts and well wishes to all back home and at MPHS. I'll be talking to a lot of people this weekend.

OMG you saw me at an Easter egg hunt knocking the kids over and getting all the eggs, I thought me disguise was good. Dang next year I will do better.In grade school the valentines thing I get. On a serious note analogkid I hope no one you know was hurt or worse.Those poor kids did not need to see that.

@Humbletexan1: The rise of atheism surely has had a major effect on society. What do atheists live for? What is their purpose in life? I come from England where atheism is common, and crime and antisocial behavior are commonplace. For me it was like a prison, everyone out for themselves with no moral compass, no compassion for other human beings, and no direction in life.
