I went to Ace Hardware on Monday with a nicely bound package to send to my son's office in Lake Jackson. I paid for 1-day priority mail and insured it for $500.
Forgot all about it yesterday and never checked the tracking. This morning my son (who was out of the office yesterday) emailed asking for the tracking number. That spurred me into checking online and finding out it was delivered on time yesterday to a Humble zip code - not Lake Jackson. (WTH?)
After a cluster flip of transfers, button pushing and a 17 minute wait to speak to a customer service agent this is what I got:
No, they cannot read the signature. No they cannot provide me with POD. Someone will call you within 24 hours to "investigate". No you cannot file a claim today, only 21 days after it goes missing. No, they have no idea how that could happen. No, there isn't anyone other information.
Thank you for calling the United States Postal Service.
