>> Sadly, People in general are getting ruder and can care less about anything. I am trying my hardest to make sure that my kids know to hold the doors open for people, not litter, say please and thank you, etc.
I love that my 6 year old son runs and opens doors for people, and usually says "ladies first!". I refuse to raise rude little barbarians.
He also tends to pick up other people's trash. My 3 year old daughter copies what he does, and attempted to pick somebody's gum off of the ground to throw away (gross!).

These are wonderful habits that you are teaching your children.
My biggest quest was to teach mine, Yes Mam' and No Sir....
They still say this to this day.

Those are great habits as we teach our boys the same thing. In target on Saturday 2 teen boys were engaging in a game of soccer in between the movie aisles. As I walked by they kicked the ball into the side of my cart, narrowly missing my sons head. They didn't say sorry, k*** ** ***, nothing. Great parenting there.
