Tonight I witnessed:

A family with 6 kids who were all running wild in the toy aisle and pulling things off the shelves.

A guy with a ski mask looking thing on and wearing sunglasses.

Two children tossing a football in the store.

An employee's underwear.

About a dozen fast food beverage containers placed throughout the store.

A domestic argument.

Two cars in handicapped spots without the proper plates or mirror tag.

And EVERYONE'S favorite- a dirty diaper in the parking lot.

This is exactly why 90% of my non-food purchases are made online.

I used to love to shop. We'd get dressed up, shop the shops, stop for a nice lunch, shop some more and top it off with a cocktail or two. I cringe if I have to go shopping. T he food is all fake, the clothes are all cheaply made and dirty. (YES I saw a lady wipe her nose on a shirt.) And people are rude. Don't matter if it's sales help or other patrons. I'd rather skip the trip and have an extra cocktail.
I never shop at wally world.

I don't go to Walmart either, and usually hit Target at 8 a.m. during the week. Tonight was just gross.

Please don't tell me that BusyMommy! I refuse to go to Walmart due to the patrons. I know that sounds bad, but I recently went for a quick stop to try it again and still didn't feel safe. Always feel safe at Target. The patrons are fine. Like you, I tend to shop in the early mornings during the week.

I don't understand the empty Starbucks cup shoved in the shelves all throughout Target.

If you are fancy enough for an overpriced coffee you are fancy enough to the throw it away when you are done. There are trash cans at the end of every other aisle.

Sadly, People in general are getting ruder and can care less about anything. I am trying my hardest to make sure that my kids know to hold the doors open for people, not litter, say please and thank you, etc.

I love that my 6 year old son runs and opens doors for people, and usually says "ladies first!". I refuse to raise rude little barbarians.

He also tends to pick up other people's trash. My 3 year old daughter copies what he does, and attempted to pick somebody's gum off of the ground to throw away (gross!).

@Littlegoo:

These are wonderful habits that you are teaching your children.
My biggest quest was to teach mine, Yes Mam' and No Sir....
They still say this to this day.

@MooMaw:

Those are great habits as we teach our boys the same thing. In target on Saturday 2 teen boys were engaging in a game of soccer in between the movie aisles. As I walked by they kicked the ball into the side of my cart, narrowly missing my sons head. They didn't say sorry, k*** ** ***, nothing. Great parenting there.

I know, it is disheartening to see kids not being taught, or maybe they are and just forget....
Courtesy, good manners and common sense are no longer a priority.

I always wonder if any of those unfortunate souls have ever spotted themselves on that site. I have a feeling that a handful of them would wear it like a badge of honor.
