I heard on the news this morning that it was a republican judge that appointed a special prosecutor to investigate Perry / which led to the charges - learnt something new today - makes it a bit hard to keep playing that political railroad card - but whatever - couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

@macdaddy: Not really...Historically, it's pretty much the norm that the President's party loses seats in the Congress during the mid-terms...I'm sure that statistic provides an easy avenue for many pundits to appear more knowledgeable than they really are about the political future...Kind of like a Carnival "Carney" plying his/her trade...Sadly, some actually fall for it......Here's The Stats:
