Yes. So happy to see all those golf carts rolling around, but sad to see them rolling away quickly as the rain came down hard. Hope that did not dampen their day. The course will keep looking better as they make money. I am waiting for the water hazard behind my house to come back looking beautiful again. Too many weeds and noisy frogs, but my granddaughters loved watching the golfers hit the ball into the water. Emoticon

@This Guy:

Correct answer is the homeowner is responsible, they assume the risk of living on the golf course, they would have to prove the player did it intentionaly to hold the player responsible, most HO's are aware of this, still pisses you off though, most players, on morality, not legality, will offer to pay for the window though.

I thought the windows used on those home were made out of special material to absorb the shock? No?

I was more worried about my kids not being able to play in the backyard without body armor so we didn't buy on the golf course.

@BusyMommy:

Some are plexi-glass (you see a lot more PG in Walden, where the houses line up and down the fairway w/ smaller back yards that get hit quite a bit), I've hit one in Walden that didn't break, but if its glass, I don't think you're going to stop a golf ball traveling at over 100 mph from breaking it, atleast that I'm aware of.
It isn't a common occurrence to be honest, atleast to break a window, I've lived on golf courses most all of my life and never had a window broke (nor have I ever broke a window but have seen it happen to others in my playing group twice), but house/roof got hit quite a bit on one I lived in.
Good point about the kids, I think at the least, you have to, as a parent, be aware as golfers are coming up if you're living at a house that has a chance of getting hit more often.

Live on the T box if you have young kids.

Have only once ever seen a ball in my yard.

Remember how my kids used to look for golf balls and sell them to passing golfers.

One day a aggravated golfer stopped by with my youngest and said this kid was running out from between houses on the course and stealing golf balls which were in play.

Needless to say this was the end of their golf ball selling business

@timbom:
That was mine, can I have it back? Yea, its tough (not impossible) to get them in your yard when you live on the T-box, in my 35 years of playing, I've saw some funny shots, somehow ball going backwards, or directly across, like must of happened in your case.
I watched a 6/7 hcdp "whif" it on the t-box in a big $ game, happen to be my dads partner (me and a buddy were playing them), we laughed so hard, and then continued to laugh the rest of the round, we couldn't help it every time he got up to swing, we got in trouble big time by my dad, but man was it funny.

In the 26 yrs. I have lived on the golf course, I have had 3 windows broken and my screen on the back porch replaced twice. Not too bad. My next door neighbor has replaced a lot more broken glass than I have had to replace. I have not caught the people doing this because it always happened when I was at work. Maybe I will catch them now that I am retired. The craziest stuff happens when I catch people who actually drive their carts onto my back yard and get out and try to hit their ball. I want to strangle them. They also cut threw my yard with their carts. I usually catch them and ask them to turn around. One guy actually had the nerve to drive all over my back yard looking for his ball. Too lazy to get out of the cart and walk around, which he is not supposed to do either. Ughh!! The price of living on the golf course.

@AMCLady:

Those noisy frogs help keep the mosquitoes in check, well, as much as they can in this environment. At our last house in Washington, we had a small wetland pond down a little hill from us. Never had an issue sitting out at night with mosquitoes as we're quite certain that the frog population kept them down. They were a bit loud, but I miss the croaking as I usually had no trouble falling asleep to it. Of course, we could also sleep with our windows open in the summer.

Those frogs need to eat faster to earn their keep. I am attacked every night and sometimes during the day by those mosquitos. We basically stay indoors and listen to frogs.
