The below video details the awful moment a 9 year old girl shoots and kills a firearms instructor whom was trying to show her how to use an Uzi (it does not show the man being killed). First I want to say in my opinion this is not a second amendment debate. Having said that I'm wondering why would the parents of this child allow her to go on a gun rage and shoot an automatic weapon as powerful as an Uzi in the first place?

I understand that some people feel like they have certain "rights". However you also have the right to walk along a dark alley at night. That doesn't mean it's a good idea. Now unfortunately this poor child will have to receive extensive counseling in order to deal with the trauma. But even at that she will carry this the rest of her life, good God.

First to clarify...people DO have certain "rights"...not just feel.
Secondly...agree 100% that this is certainly bad bad decision making on all adult participants. Unfortunately for the child...she will suffer the most.

What parent would put an Uzi in their child's hand? The instructor's family is devastated and that girl will spend the rest of her life knowing she shot a man to death. It is an accident that never should have happened. What a way to end your summer vacation.

Boy in Ma. was given micro uzi at gun range and predictably experienced muzzle climb and blew his head away.I think he was about the same age.

All involved are prime examples of what gives 2nd amed lovers a bad name. A lot of people think this is how most gun owners are. The only innocent person involved her is the 9 year old. I feel so sorry for that little girl.

my boys have both fired weapons at that age. but they were not fully automatic. Start them off on a 22 rifle. Tons of fun shooting that....

I think the 9 year old will bounce back with all the desensitizing these kids have now, she probably even yelled "BOOM HEADSHOT"

@Fairlane67:

hmmmm..... I suppose technically - the instructor (bad decision guy) didn't suffer much; his family - surely will....

sad trauma for the kid - - - -

any adult / trainer - should certainly know the limits of their trainee - this kid probably shouldn't have been shooting anything stronger than a .22 -

Because she could. Too many equate could/can with should. They stubbornly throw reason and good sense to the wind in order to prove a point or stroke an ego.
