By the way.. what a woman!
@ItsJustTrev:
I'm all for it... is it perfect? No... nothing is, but I believe the system allows plenty of chances and time to eliminate mistakes.
So, the guy wasn't on death row therefore this has nothing to do with the death penalty, but following your logic we should just do away with the entire penal system to avoid imprisoning one innocent person? Sorry for that single innocent person, but 99.99% (*) of people in jail belong there...
(*) source: my guesstimate
@sandman:
Why do you think the U S has the largest prison population in the world. 5% of the world population and 25% of the prison population.
@tb505:
What does that has to do with the death penalty?
@sandman:
the person discussed was not on death row. I was just curious. IMO, our school system has a large impact on the reason.
@tb505:
yeah, I know he wasn't on death row... but why blame the school system? why it's always somebody else's fault?
@sandman:
doesn't something have to have an effect? Are they born destined to go to jail.
@tb505:
it's all about the choices you make in life... God gives us that ability...
@sandman:
and one place you learn how to make those choices is in school
@tb505:
and home... and the corner... and the gym... and church... etc.
So, you don't believe in personal responsibility and I do... nothing new
