Members of the Atascocita Community Improvement Association positively expect the board of the association to treat the members of the association with respect and dignity.
 
This includes complying with the governing documents of the association and the state laws of Texas.
 
We expect that when we ask a reasonable question we will get a reasonable answer.
 
We expect that we will see an agenda for the association meetings 72 hours in advance of the meeting so we may know what the board is considering and prepare any questions we may have.
 
We expect the minutes of the meetings to be accurate and posted in a timely fashion.
 
We expect that our board will present accurate honest information to the members.
 
We expect that the board will not plan on selling land that belongs to the members and conceal the sale from the members.
 
We expect that the board will make reasonable and rational decisions regarding the spending of our 1.2 million dollars in annual dues.
 
We expect the immediate release of the 2012 financial audit of our monies that were spent during that year.
 
We expect that contractors will be held accountable for the performance of said contracts.
 
We expect our board will not have members thrown out of meetings by police officers that the residents pay additional monies for on top of our county taxes.
 
We positively expect all of these things and if the current board is unwilling or unable to fulfill these expectations please step down so others may perform the required duties of our HOA board.

Positively keeping their form, the Atascocita Community Improvement Association board has refused to post an agenda.
 
Here is the meeting "Notice"-
 
NOTICE OF REGULAR BOARD MEETING
 
Dear Homeowners:
 
The Board of Directors for the Atascocita Community Improvement Association will hold a regular meeting on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00Emoticonm., at The Overlook 20114 Pinehurst Drive, Atascocita, TX 77346.
 
The subject of the meeting is general business of the Association, including discussion of items related to the Association budget and expenditures as well as discussion of items related to the assets owned by the Association.
 
Items that may be discussed in executive session include: actions involving personnel, pending or threatened litigation, appeals, contract negotiations, enforcement actions, confidential communications with the Association attorney, and other business that is confidential by request of the affected party.
 
Any changes to meeting time, place, or agenda will be posted on our website: aciahomeowners.org

Notice the part about "Any changes to meeting time, place, or agenda will be posted on our website: aciahomeowners.org"- What Agenda? Another not so funny misrepresentation of the truth.
 
Positively an awesome board we have ,we can see how much they really are concerned about the members.

Agenda is on website-look under meeting agendas.
 
Posted when , who knows?
 
Update on 50 k purchase of land it's on the agenda, if you don't want to see 50 k wasted go to meeting.
 
Surveillance cameras the board wants are of course on there too.
 
New business none , expect them to honor that, won't hold my breath on that one.
 
Guess what is not on the Agenda the 2012 Audit that was approved in April 2014 and we are not allowed to see.
We are given excuses like we are waiting for bank statements,but given that it has already been board approved I will let you draw your own conclusions on the truthfulness of those statements.

Can anyone please explain to me why the land that is owed 50K back taxes on is referred to as the Golf Villa common area.
 
It is my understanding that this parcel WAS NOT included in the Golf Villas, it was kept separate.
 
Why is the Atascocita Community Improvement Association referring to this land as Golf Villa common area?
 
I will let you draw your own conclusions.

How many police officers will have to be off the streets and at the meeting to prevent pesky questions?
 
One - Two - Three
 
I'm going to go with 3.
 
And if the questions are really difficult will helicopters be needed ?

Has there been a rash of criminal activity at The Atascocita Community Improvement Association meetings?
 
We do know of claims of grills being stolen at the shores park to justify the purchase of surveillance cameras.
 
Claims of actual criminal activity made by the ACIA board.
 
Reported to the police?-NO
 
Reported to the residents?
 
Yes several months after it supposedly happened , oh and by the way that's why we need survaillence cameras.
 
Oh wait the board first tried to claim vandalism and then settled on theft-yeah ,yeah that's it stolen grills.
 
I will will let you draw your own conclusions to the truthfulness of the stolen grills.

Will the board tell us the amount of monies already spent on the attempt to acquire the land that was not (my understanding) part of the Golf Villas?
 
Will they tell us the total expected costs?
 
Or will this be like the land accepted outside of the meets and bounds of our association that the board accepted as a "gift" and promised they would first give us an estimate of cleanup costs?
 
They never got the cleanup cost estimate and yet still voted to take the land.
 
I will let you draw your own conclusions regarding this action.
 
There is more, it appears we were paying to maintain land that did not belong to the association.
 
We were told we had an "agreement" with another association.When asked to produce the agreement, surprise it was not in writing.
 
Draw your own conclusions.
 
Should we be paying our association monies to maintain other associations land?

I assume the answer is no.

Very quiet meeting tonight. No constables there until about 7:45 just to give their report. Still no 2012 Audit report. I guess it is basically done and the board had to sign off on it or something then it gets finalized so maybe next month we will actually see it, or possibly Sept, maybe Oct or most likely at the annual meeting in Nov, if we are lucky. But don't hold your breath it may be 2015 before we actually get the 2012 audit Emoticon
