Just an update,I plugged in my attic mounted antenna and holy cow!! ~60 channels showed up. I was expecting 5. Also found out that there is a AirBox service that broacsacts Shotime and Stars over the air to a tuner box ($100) that then costs $20 - $30 / month. Box it at radio shack. Never heard of it before and thought I'd share.

@cousindan: Thanks for sharing. It won't work for me. I need NFL Sunday Ticket, Bravo and TLC. When those channels show up on your DTV - I'll be ready to make the switch.Glad it worked out for you.

does anyone know how to get CNN on any of these antenna systems?

Unfortunately not. That's DW's hang up with getting rid of the satellite. An acceptable sacrifice You can get documentaries and stuff on Amazon / Netflix. I'm gonna miss ESPN / NFL Network, but not $120 / month worth.

@bbk: nope... not over the air... you would have to find them streaming or on the internet etc.....
