No wonder nothing can seem to get done!
The news "blast", sent out by the ACIA informing residence that one of the swimming pools is back in operation,

The "blast" says "the PINHURST pool is now back in operation"!!

I think we live in "PINEHURST".

Amazing.

I think this is really, really reaching for the dark side of whole ACIA Board thing.

Anyone can make a spelling mistake.

Well, but, if we're going to pick on the spelling, let's also recognize the last sentence in that email..

"At time we are still waiting for motor to arrive for the Shores Pool, we will repair as soon as possible."

Now, the grammar police are really on the alert.

Sounds like somebody was in a hurry to get a message out to everyone. At least they are trying (I think) to get better communication out to the residents.

I got the gist of the message - which is good news that one of the pool is open again. I know there have been some kids around that will be really glad about that, and they won't give a flip about spelling or grammar.

Geez ... is there any pleasing you people? Y'all pick apart every single thing the ACIA does--hold a 4th of July celebration, misspell words in an email, hold a mobile vet clinic in the park, the list goes on. The members of the Board are VOLUNTEERS! They are volunteering their time to benefit the community. Judging by the behavior of a few of you on this site, I can understand why there are constables at the Board meetings. They probably cannot get any business done without you jumping down their throats.

If you are so miserable DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! There have been many suggestions given to help this situation. If you don't like what is being done, get off your butt and get out there and do something about it. Don't just sit here and complain. Run for a Board position the next time one is available. I know a lot of the folks over there are retired and have a lot of time on their hands. Do something productive and make a difference for your community!

Now get out there and have a great day!

Agreed. Not all of us that live the ACIA are complaining about every little thing. I think those that do diminish the focus on the real issues that we need to work to resolve.

It is another conspiracy.

They paid for spell check and didn't use it, or did they

I wonder how much they paid for it

@757beach:

I bet one of them owns a company called "Pinhurst" and they are using these emails as a means to implant that name into our heads. I just bet this all comes out very, very soon into the light.

I agree. My post was not directed at you. You seem to try to help and offer solutions and are not always complaining.

@757 beach

No worries my friends. I have skin in this game but I don't like the way some folks are trying to play the game. I get the frustration and I don't agree with everything that is going on, but this constant drone of gloom and doom is wearing mighty thin.

Working as a volunteer for a variety of different organizations, I feel for those that are sincerely trying to do the right things and being met with rejection at every turn. I also know that having a "high falutin'" post on a board can sometimes go right to someone's head and they do lose sight of impartial decision making.

I think the whole community and board needs to go to mediation outside in the heat. Nobody get's water until agreements are reached.

@lana7018:
To be honest I would think it would be difficult for you are ANYONE else to even have AN OPINION when you do not go to meetings . I would think you would read what is put up here on Atas . com (IF ) you live in ACIA . If you don't live in ACIA I'd think there would be a lot better things to read or go & do .I think when you read another's opinion or what they say on this issue you should start going to meetings & learn for yourself if these opinions you read are of any value & come from trustworthy people . The purpose of all this stuff is to bring attention to homeowners & to get them to come to meetings & push for this Board to do what's right ( IN OUR OPINION ) & WE GO TO THE MEETINGS . And I just don't think any of you folks would think it is OK to have police take homeowners out of the meetings . And I think homeowners should go to the meetings &( demand ) that this Board PROVE TO THEM THEY DIDN'T DO THIS . And if they did do this, they need to PROVE THE HOMEOWNER WAS BEING DISRUPTIVE & SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED . This is not meant to be ugly to anyone & yes I agree all have a right to an opinion . But can you really give an opinion on things said by people you don't really know & you've not been to the meetings to see 1st hand ?This is not like a political discussion , this is more to me on a local right under your nose thing .I don't think anyone needs mediation I think going back about 1yr to 1&1/2 yrs & telling us answers to our questions is a very big start in the right direction .

First of all, I have been to meetings in the past. (Admittedly not recently.)

Second - I live here and have been in the ACIA for more than 15 years. ( I started the very first homeowners association back in 1977 for the North) I've also lived in the Oaks before moving to Pinehurst. I'm pretty familiar with the area and some of the history around here.

I don't think that constant whining and nit-picking is getting anything done. You may not be one of the "nit-pickers", but there are those out there that never have any balance in the mix.

My opinion is my own and it goes along with my mortgage and homeowners dues out here. I missed the section in my deed restrictions that said I waive the right to it if I don't attend every meeting of the board for every year I live in the neighborhood.

They forgot to purchase the sign indicating that spell check had been purchased.
