I'd say when you are poor, your definition of "broke" is NO MONEY and/or in debt....When you are middle class, "broke" means you're spending more than you make...When you are rich, your definition is "will only buy 1 expensive luxury car(or house) this year"...

its funny, cux if you listen to the interview with Diane Sawyer, she said " we were broke, we were scrambling to find money to pay off bills to pay for "HOUSES" , education, etc.....HOUSES !!!!!!poor lady

Most politicians make money illegally during their time in office. Not to mention if they write books, etc. I think that's the main reason politicians keep fighting for jobs that just under 300k per year (state and city politicians make much less). Initially, they all have the mindset of servitude, until these interests groups line their pockets and pay for their campaigns. In my opinion, many of them are crooks, both republican and democrats. It's just a matter of who hides the money trail the best.

^^^ right on...and as much as I like Ted Poe....it just isn't right that he doesn't have to fight for his re election.

Being rich or being broke, it's all a state of mind.There are those with $100 and they think they're rich.
There are those with $10M and think they're broke.I think it's all about comfort zone.

@tb505: I have thought about that....but I believe an election is a term limit really....I just wish people would be more educated about their Reps and care about how they represent them. Too many politicians have a sense of entitlement that is so so dangerous....but the voters are the ones that have granted it.

I saw that since President Clinton left office he's made over 100 million in speaking fees alone. Hillary has made 5 million in speaking fees. I saw that Bill charges 750k per speech. I saw that Gov. Palin is charging 100k plus per speech.
