I never eat salad I didn't fix myself. If I'm going to eat 99 grams of fat, it sure won't be from a darn salad.

These are just ridiculous. You might as well get the burger over the salad when you eat out! Ditch the cheese, sauces, and bun and you'll really be doing well.

I never let them put dressing because I just don't like very much & I don't let them put cheese or croutons .

I like a home built salad because I can put all the bad things on it I want.

Pretty much any salad with fried chicken, bacon, handfuls of cheese or 2 cups of dressing in any combination should be a warning sign that you are about to indulge.

There are plenty of healthy options out there though especially if you make the right choices.

All of those salads look so yummy. I think I would still rather have one of those than a BigMac. LOL

I don't like salads with meat and fruit in them. I like crispy lettuce, spinach, carrots, onions, some olives, maybe mushrooms, tomatoes and cucumbers in my salad. No sweet dressing for me either, I also don't like when every piece of vegetable or greens is covered with dressing, I usually just drizzle the dressing.
Speaking of dressing, my favorite one is Pappaya Seed dressing I tried in Haawaii for the first time and I ordered it from a site in Hawaii. YUM!!!! Shipping is kinda long but it's worth the wait.

People just need to use common sense. If something isn't good for you on it's own (copious amounts of cheese, bacon, anything fried, creamy dressings), just because it's labeled a salad, isn't going to mean it's good for you. Always opt for something that is mostly fresh greens (not iceberg) grilled protein without breading (chicken, salmon)and a balsalmic or vinegarette type dressing and you'll be fine. Just read all of the ingredients. The strawberry fields salad at Culver's is my favorite and it's about 400 calories. Wendy's has some good options too. I am one of those people that like fruit and nuts in my salads.

I just finished looking at that gallery. Some of those salads definitely look deceiving. Of course, they are also HUGE. Even healthier options add up in calories when they are served in troughs. Using my example above (the strawberry fields salad) if it was served as big as some of those salads pictured, it could very well end up being a 1,000 calorie salad as well.

This is why restaurants need to include calorie and fat info on the menus because some people just don't know.
