Now that this preferred zero dog owner currently has three dogs, I have to keep these critters active.

We've been going to the Duessen dog park, what other ones are there? I know of the downtown one, any others?

Long story short.

After our 13yo boxer passed, had about a year long break while the kids whined and cried about not having a dog.

Got talked into a pound rescue. A doxie mix.
Then hubby always wanted an English bulldog but cost and high maintenance always blocked a serious effort. An unexpected rehome option, which I vehemently declined still resulted in new dog in my house.

Then Franklin the yorkie rescue was posted here and I thought he would be a great partner to my ill MIL. She almost immediately severely broke her arm walking him and so he is now at my house indefinitely.

Don't get me wrong, I loooove dogs, I just want them to live elsewhere Emoticon

I like my house to be reserved for humans, but I applaud you for taking care of the yorkie.

He is really a sweetie and a funny little guy. Very calm and not demanding like the other two.

He is a fetching fool. Loves it so much and is tireless! He fights off the bulldog and doxie with ease.

We've been going to the Duessen dog park, what other ones are there? I know of the downtown one, any others?

What kind of dogs do you have? I love dogs, but lately I would also prefer to have zero! They are driving me nuts, because the 2 don't really like each other, the big one smells a day after we give her a bath, and sheds like nobody's business, and the Shiba Inu thinks it's funny to dart through the door when nobody is expecting it, and make us chase after him all over the neighborhood. It would be great when the kids are older, and don't demand so much of my time, but now it's just so much. But they are part of the family, so we love them.

We really like taking the Newfie to Gene Green Park off of the beltway close to Wallisville Rd. It's a really nice park, and we like it more than the others because of the huge pool. The Newfie needs to swim. We took her to Duessen once because it's so much more convenient, and she just looked at us like "Where the %*#$ is the water?!".

Oh, I posted before I read the rest of the posts. What a variety. My husband is also an English Bulldog freak - he had one that lived to be 17 (she may have ended up living longer, but she was put down, as her quality of life was basically nothing at that point). Yes, they do rack up the vet bills (ear infections, skin issues).

A lot of the parks have separate areas for the under 20 lbs. and over 20 lbs, so not sure how that will work with your 3, although I have seen Chihuahuas on the over 20 lbs. side.

I wouldn't mind checking out one of the ones in the shores. Are they fenced in / off leash parks???? @bbk @lola

@Crawgator:

Thanks @jakebob
Been there, looking for something closer.

Dog parks needed fences. The main purpose is to let the dogs off leash.
