I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday doing returns. (6 in total) Of those, 4 required payments to the good old IRS, but at least it's done!Dropped mine off at the post office yesterday, so today I can simply enjoy April 15th for whatever else good stuff comes our way.Also posted our quarterly business taxes for 2014 so I'm glad tax season is ovah! (until second quarter comes due.....)

I did mine in Feb... but always wait 'til the last minute to send them the money...

@brightlightsWe wait until April to submit returns because I've always heard that is when the majority of returns are submitted and there is less chance of being audited during the busiest time. I don't know if that is true...Just for the record, I do not fear an audit but would not relish the hassle.

I owed so I waited until today. No reason they should get my money early!

@traxla: I hear that a lot, as if you're sticking it to them by waiting until the last minute lol. You don't really think they care whether they get your money on the front end, the back end, or after the fact when they get interest/penalties, right? They still get it either way. I like to rip it off like a bandaid. At least, either way, we can sleep at night knowing we're paying our taxes as fiscally responsible American citizens.

You sound like my husband. We prepared the returns in February but filed last week and paid on Apr 14th. We'll be penalized for not paying quarterly but we like holding on to that money as long as we can just in case.

Did ours in Feb so we could get our FAFSA sent in. Son and hubby and I got refunds, DD broke even.

@cheryltomrefunds? people still get those? I haven't got one since Bush was president... Bush Sr.

We ain't rich folk here, we make less than 100,000, ( and we didn't itemize this year because our house is now paid off.)
