Why are there so many Kmart commercials on TV?
Is there even a location anywhere around Houston? Or in Texas anymore???

I guess the commercials come from the national broadcaster's feed... I am surprised the local channels do not place their own local commercials over them....

Believe me...they are not missed. I cannot even believe they have any at all. They are run down, no remodel or even maintenance done on their stores. Remember the company went bankrupt in 2001. The shares were bought out by a mega real estate investor. He closed the stores in the most desirable locations and sold the real estate to growing retailers like Lowes and Home Depot...even Walmart. The rest continue to operate on very little, with I assume, a decent profit...in older, stagnant towns and neighborhoods around the country.

I remember them... when they field for bankruptcy and the stores closed (I remember the one in Humble, where Academy is now) I thought they were gone for good....

I have seen a couple of commercials from them lately and I was wondering if they were back in Texas...

With on-line shopping, it doesn't matter if there is a bricks-and-mortar store, nearby, so commercials are basically universal now. Last time o looked, there wasn't one within 200 miles of us, bit that may have changed since then.

Are they still basically the same or have they made many changes since the mass closings?
