What's your tradition?
We've done tamales, prime rib, steaks. No real consistent tradition.

No special menu for Eve but big meal Christmas Day. I do find I put all the casseroles and such together on Eve bc it helps make easier the next day!

Christmas Eve will be light. I will be eating fabulous meals this weekend. Christmas dinner will be a beef tenderloin.

My sister in law has taken it upon herself to have everyone in the family meet up at Oisie's Table in River Oaks, which I am not too keen about. I don't think that is an appropriate place for a 2 and 5 year old, and I doubt there is anything that they will eat at that place. I would much rather stay home and eat some tamales. My 2 year old is at that stage where eating at any restaurant is not very fun, so I am not happy.

@Littlegoo

I see chicken tenders, buttered pasta, grilled cheese - not too bad. I always used to still take puffs, cheerios and apple sauce at that age because it takes them a while to eat them. I do really remember sitting with little ones at fancier restaurants and thinking this.is.just.not.fun. Lots of extra walking around in the parking lot and stuff.

I might just happen to have a "stomach flu" or something on Christmas Eve, and volunteer to stay home with the kiddos.

Littlegoo - Great food and location, but you are correct - not a place for young children.
