I heard about Morton this past summer in my Death Penalty class. The prosecution in the case withheld exculpatory evidence. As a result, they passed the Michael Morton Act after his release. I'd rather 10,000 criminals on the street than one innocent person incarcerated.

Watched it - did not detect any anger or bitterness. He is blessed.

I know I said the same thing to my husband & I don't see how when you learn the facts that he is not angry .

@bbk:If he is truly without anger and bitterness, it has to be because of his spiritual experience, imo. I don't think it is humanly possible to go through what he did and be as serene as he appears to be without the power of God.

I think there is a problem with our justice system, when each side is only focused on winning their cases, and nobody cares about finding the truth and justice for the victims.Edited: perhaps I am a bit harsh to the lawyers here... not that nobody cares, but the primary focus is winning cases, everything else seems to be second.

@traxla: Very well said as I have dealt with these types during disciplinary labor relation cases where lawyers and management would destroy or lose evidence which would have exonerated those I have defended as a shop steward. Laws aimed at this type of misconduct is needed.
