My daughter loves gift cards, cash, big plastic candy canes filled with Kisses or M&M's, fuzzy socks, hair products, body lotions, anything with glitter (lip gloss, body spray, hair spray), silly hats, scarves, gloves. I have no problem stuffing with the stuff they actually need and will use.

toothbrush, tooth paste, deodorant, chocolate santa, scratch offs, the candy cane with kisses or m&m's in it, lil cutties, matchbox cars or something small wrapped(so they get to un-wrap a little something ya know), magazines, any gift cards I could go on and on

back in the day I was thrilled to get some Matchbox cars, gum packs with baseball cards, a pocket knife (had one since the first grade), some pieces of flair to put on my bike or my ball cap...

now, for today's kids, I wouldn't have a clue... maybe an iTunes card, joysticks or whatever device needed to play Call of Duty, headphones, iPhone cover, I dunno...

We put Swiss Army knives in our girls' stockings last year & they love them. I get what you're saying though. Times change & the "stuff" changes too.
