Titanic Exhibit - What a difference 4 years makes
Apr 11, 2012 - 10:44 pm
I posted last week that I really wanted to see the Titanic exhibition here in Houston, but was afraid it might be the same exhibit we saw at Moody Gardens a few years back. Well, after paying closer attention to the currently airing commercial, I ran a Google search and found out it is the same. What is VERY INTERESTING is the difference in ticket prices. They are currently charting $27 for adults and $20 for children. I didn't think we paid that much and I was right.

This is what I found on Google, from a 2008 article promoting the exhibit: "Ticket prices for Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition are $11.95 for adults ages 13 to 64, $10.95 for seniors over 65, and $7.95 for children ages 4 to 12. You can also purchase a one-day pass good for the exhibit and all other Moody Garden's attractions for $44.95. Visit the Moody Gardens website for more information." http://voices.yahoo.com/moody-gardens-galveston-texa

Wow, the price has nearly tripled in 4 years! Unbelievable.

Maybe they felt they could since they just released the 3D of the Titanic movie. A lot of people are oogling over the movie again right now so they probably figure they can screw people.

Funny - I saw the movie last night in 3D. It was good, but still just as long. Ha. I would say "ehh" on going to see the movie, however, I would like to see the exhibit.

Maybe they had to adjust the prices to provide for the fuel costs of shipping that stuff around. I dunno. That is big price hike.

I think that ticket price also includes admission into the Houston Museum of Natural Science whether you want to or not. An adult admission just to the Science Musuem is $15.00. So add the $11.95 price you paid in 2008 to that, and it is $26.95.
