Homeless Tent city in our community. There are three tents with homeless people living in them in the woods behind Oak Forest Elementary school (closer to the corner of Kings Parkway facing 1960). I have been chating on the Next Door site and a number of us have called HPD but nothing has been done. Any background on this issue and how can it get resolved ASAP? It is nearly in the playground of the school. Very dangerous! I don't like this sort of issue in our community it opens up a whole lot of safety concerns for our area

So on Saturday in front of Copy Post and Ship there was a lady asleep on the sidewalk. She was dressed nice with a nice backpack. She was snoring loud. I brought it to the attention of Copy Post and Ship and they said they've never seen her, but there is an older man that sleeps there sometimes. 😟

I don't like this at all. I understand that they need somewhere to go...but feet from elementary aged kids, without knowing anything about these residents, is no Bueno for me!

I would be raising hell if I had a kid at OFE until I got some vetting information at the very least.

ETA: Lots of kiddos hunt pokemon in that exact area, too.

@brightlights
Yes, my kids are at OFE and this highly concerns me. I wonder how long they've been there?

@ljaranda
In addition to calling the Precinct 4 Constables, you could notify the property owner of the trespassers/squatters. Maybe @bbk could help you out with how to find out who the owner is, I believe she has a realtor background.

These folks need to move along and set up their shantytown somewhere else.

@Sammee :
All anyone needs to do is go to HCAD which is Harris County Appraisal District . There is a place where you can put in a homes address & the owner of that homes name will come up .

Are if you know the person's name you type that in & then the address will come up .

@t Sammee I see now that your not talking about some people squatting on a person's empty house property which is what I thought you were talking about . I have read the thread now & understand we need to be looking for wood land in the area described .

@bbk
I think it's an empty lot and wooded area behind the school.

by your description the property is either owned by Humble ISD or Atascocita 1692 LLC, 1999 Bryan St., ste 900, Dallas, TX 75201-3140.
Easiest way is to call PCT 4
