Another Creeper (TMS)

Sigh...time to have a refresher conversation with your walking kiddos again. I really hate seeing kids walking alone with their ear buds in.

Dear Timberwood Parents,

I want to make you aware of an incident that was reported to us today. Yesterday morning a student was walking to school on Flax Bourton near Timber Forest Drive, listening to music with earbuds. She was not aware that a man approached her until he touched her shoulder from behind. He asked her for a date, and the student replied that she was only 13. At that point a young woman in a white car intervened and told the girl to run away and call police. The girl continued on to school and the man did not follow.

The incident was reported to Humble ISD Police, who will patrol the area at dismissal today. The man is described as white, about 6’ tall, with dark blonde hair.

I wonder why the woman in the car did not call police and give description. Or, maybe she did. Hope they get this preditor.

What kind of woman would tell her to run away & call police ? I'd be yelling I'm calling the police & you go to the principles office & I will follow this man . I'd do all that I could to get the creeps license plate number & a really good look at him .

Most of the time when you have school age kids you live in a sub with other kids on your street . Why don't the parents have things set up where their kids walk together . Ours always walked in groups & when they took the bus they all waited together .

Do we have a "Safe House" program ? If not, someone should start one. If you are unfamiliar with the program. Home owners submit an application and they are background checked. Then if they pass, they get a decal or sign to place in their front window, showing they are a "Safe House". The local PD goes to the schools and shows the signs to the kids and tell them that if they need help, that they can go to this house, knock on the door and be safe. Instead of having to run all the way to school (knowing they are safe there). The important parts of the program are the investigation and background check of the home owners and the information conveyed to the kids.

Last week in Kingwood, across the street from Creekwood at the Church, a man in a white van exposed himself to a student while she was walking home. They sent out a letter to the parents as well.
