Humble woman found dead in Louisiana bay

From Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office:

On April 23, 2016, the Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of a female found by a fisherman in Whiskey Bay (Plaquemine). With the help of the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab and AFIS, they were able to positively identify her as Elizabeth Ann Ferrell, of Humble, Texas.

This is being treated as a homicide after the medical examiner ruled strangulation as her official cause of death. Two detectives from Iberville Parish are en route to the Humble area now to question family/friends, and try to figure out her whereabouts leading up to her death. They believe the time of death to be somewhere around or right before midnight on Friday, April 22.

So very sad... Somehow it seems even worse that they are investigating it as a homicide. Prayers for family and friends...

Update: her death was ruled a homicide. Just horrible.

I've always thought those swamps were creepy with alligators, snakes etc. Excerpt from the article indicates this is not the first person dropped into those waters.
